Task 1

Work in small groups to create an advertising jingle.

  • Decide on a topic/product for the advert.

  • Now write a product brief which includes musical guidelines eg a) ENERGY DRINK – impact, power, invigorating. OR  b) TRAINERS – agility, urban, edgy.

  • Your music will last 30 secs – one minute.

  • You are going to use a composer tool to create your own pieces by linking to SoundJunction, an award-winning site for listening to, exploring, discovering and creating music including rock, classical, jazz, African, drum ’n’ bass, pop, fusion and more.

  • Think about the style you want to create, sound effects/vocal effects/, or maybe a bass line or a drum loop.

  • Link to SoundJunctions (composer tool)

  • You can also compose a jingle using your own instruments.

  • Record your jingle and share it with the class.

  • Play your jingle and see if they can identify the products for which they were made.
