Music

Task 1
As a whole class, conduct a general discussion on the number of different ways in which students have purchased music (eg. ringtones, CDs, sheet music, downloads). Students will need copies of the purchase chart.  (click here to download PDF version)

Task 2
In pairs or small groups:

  • Discuss the detail of this within your group.
  • Think of some of the purchases you have made over the last six months.
  • Complete the purchase chart for your group.

Task 3

As a whole class:

  • Groups report back on their findings.
  • Build up a purchase picture for the class.  The class teacher could use the purchase chart to compile a comprehensive class record and use this for all the classes across the year so that they could then compare and contrast across the year group.
  • Can you come up with a global costing for the class? And the year?
